Welcome to the Battle
Quick Tour
BattleBeats.co.uk is now open for battle! Membership is free and open to all. Our aim is to provide you with a place to organise Beat Battles and contests.
The basic idea is to provide just one place where the music can be uploaded, or linked to, so all members can vote and comment on the beats and its all done in the one place.
The entries in any battle are anonymous, as know one knows who has made and entered the beat they will be judged on their artistic content and merit alone. (Well thats the theory anyway!)
SoundCloud
This page is an example of a battle; it is using SoundCloud links for the files rather than uploading the file to battlebeat.co.uk. You can also link an MP3 file that is on another site (not just SoundCloud) in the beat upload page. However some sites may not allow us to stream from their server even though you can access it directly yourself, so you will need to test this to make sure it works for your beat on here, you can always upload the file itself here of course if it does not stream, see the faqs.
Clicking on a beat name allows you to rate and comment on that beat.
Voting/Rating and reviews
In a Battle you can click on a beats name to bring up this page. Here you can rate and comment on that beat, as well as play the beat while you review it.
See the FAQs page for some helpful guidelines on how to approach rating and reviews.
Private Battles
Some battles are arranged to be private and only those members that have been invited can see it. Access is automatic when you are invited; you just have to be logged in to see it. If you are not a member of that invited group then all you will see is this SORRY message.
Private battles can be set up at any time by arrangement.
Battle Beat Rule Sets
A Battle will usually have a set of rules for entries for the competition. The rule set that applies will depend on who is organising the battle etc and the RULES button on the top of the battle page should take you to the relevant rules that are in use.
A new or varied rule set can be added specifically for your own groups battles if you wish.
The FAQ page
This is the FAQ page, it should answer most, if not all, of those basic questions that you might have about the Battle Beat site and how it should all come together.
Scoreboards
There are scoreboards like this one (currently in demo mode) that are available for use. The idea is to have a scoreboard for relevant groups, possibly a whole site one too. Although normally scoreboards would be publicly accessible we can arrange private scoreboards if that is preferred for your group.
The Diary
This is available for showing current and up and coming Battles. It is a useful reference point for Battle dates and also helps advertise your Battles to a wider audience.
News feeds
Several feeds from other sites are normally featured here....
The page automatically ticks through the articles showing a summary in the header, or you can just click on the link of an article that interests you.
Hall of Fame
Winners of Beat Battles are enshrined here in the Hall of Fame.
The MP3 player here has several visualization plug ins that generate dynamic patterns for the music
Your Comments and Feedback
The feedback page allows users and visitors to post their comments. You can also send in your requests here if you like too, such as for a private battle to be set up. The comment will not appear straight away, it has to be 'published' by an administrator. This avoids Spam messages and other undesirable messages . isn't censorship wonderful!
And that brings us to the end of our short tour... Please check out the FAQ page for more help/info.
